Selena Group has joined the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC). This is a reputable organization that brings together green building leaders, and for more than 12 years has been been involved in promoting sustainable construction in Poland. Becoming a PLGBC member is Selena’s next step in its broad strategy of counteracting climate change.
The idea of transforming the construction industry – to make it healthy and sustainable – is one of the elements of Selena Group’s long-term strategy. For years, the company has been making efforts to ensure that its activities and product solutions leave the smallest environmental footprint, constantly inspiring and promoting green solutions in construction.
“In response to the needs of the modern world, and in cooperation with contractors, Selena Group is marketing solutions that reduce heat losses. We have developed, for example, energy-saving systems for insulation and installation of windows, solutions reducing electricity consumption, e.g. COOL-R®, the highly reflective, waterproofing coating, and foam adhesives that reduce water and electricity consumption. In sustainable development, we follow the rule of triple responsibility: environmental, social and economic. The above solutions have a positive impact both on the speed of working and technologies employed on construction sites, as well as on the environment. We see membership in the PLGBC as a continuation of the activities undertaken earlier – this time with a reputable partner. This will increase our potential for new projects supporting energy efficiency in construction, an ambition that we are open to and ready to realize”, said Michał Specjalski, Director of the Windows & Doors Division at Selena Group.
Selena consistently launches products that reduce heat losses in buildings and minimize external noise. It also develops solutions reducing the demand for energy – for both heating and cooling.
Becoming a member of the Polish Green Building Council also signifies commitment to do further projects and implement product solutions consistent with the idea of sustainable development. This is also another step towards intensification of the company’s activities promoting green building.
“It’s an exciting moment for us to see Selena, a large international Polish company, join the group of our members. Selena’s decision to become engaged in promoting sustainable construction as a part of PLGBC requires ambitious actions and cooperation from both sides to demonstrate care for the environment and natural resources. We’re ready for this cooperation, and are confident that it will contribute to the dissemination of sustainable construction standards in Poland”, said Alicja Kuczera, Managing Director of the Polish Green Building Council.
PLGBC is among over 70 green building councils operating in the world, grouped within the World Green Building Council. In Poland, it brings together companies, institutions and the best experts who support the idea of green construction. Therefore, it is an excellent platform for undertaking all kinds of joint sustainable construction initiatives, and for acting through working groups.
