Selena Group, one of the leading producers and distributors of construction chemicals and the owner of the Tytan brand – has been awarded with the “Teraz Polska” (“Poland Now”) Emblem for its Tytan Professional 60 SECONDS. The ceremony of presenting congratulatory letters and the “Teraz Polska” statuettes took place in the Presidential Palace. The award was handed over by the First Lady of Poland Agata Kornhauser-Duda to the CEO of Selena Group Krzysztof Domarecki and the CEO of the distribution company Andrzej Ulfig. For 30 years now Selena Group has been representing Poland and Polish products in more than 100 countries of the world, and has factories in 17 countries.

Foam adhesives are a new category of products in which Selena is a precursor and a global leader. Their advantages include time savings of 30% compared to traditional technologies, and lower costs for the environment. The Tytan foam adhesives are used for bonding partition walls, foamed polystyrene boards and drywall. A can of foam adhesive can replace 25–40 kg of traditional loose adhesive, which significantly changes the costs of storing, moving and using building materials. Foam adhesives come with a clean technology, so contractors do not have much cleaning to do after application. No water or electricity is needed on the construction site, which has a positive effect on the environment and projects costs while increasing the contractor’s comfort.

“The recognition from the jury of the ‘Teraz Polska’ competition and from the President of the Republic of Poland is very important to us – especially because it concerns such a revolutionary product developed by Polish chemists in Selena Labs, our R&D laboratory. The Tytan Professional 60 SECONDS foam adhesive changes the approach to building and follows the latest trends on global construction sites. This is the concept of the Polish technological thought, which is available in more than 100 markets in which Selena operates. We are particularly happy that we are pioneers of this proprietary solution, and that construction workers have trusted our innovations. We are proud that our laboratory colleagues were able to come up with completely new products and make inroads into the market segments that were completely unexplored by the largest international concerns. The fast universal adhesive Tytan 60 SECONDS is a product with a very wide range of applications. It should be a standard part of the arsenal of every builder dealing with finishing works. It can be used to mount drywall and OSB boards as well as EPS and XPS boards. It is also fit for mineral wool, ceiling tiles, skirting boards, door sills, window sills and stairs. It is perfect for constructing partition walls. If you are looking for a quick initial grip, which is very useful e.g. when installing insulation layers on ceilings, you should go for the TYTAN 60 SECONDS foam adhesive, which reaches its initial tack after a minute, and fully stabilises the bonded element in three minutes”says Krzysztof Domarecki, the CEO of Selena Group.

“The ‘Teraz Polska’ competition has been held for 30 years now. It was set up at the time of political transformation of 1989 to support Polish entrepreneurship and encourage consumers to buy Polish products as the market was being flooded with foreign goods. Over the years, the white and red ‘Teraz Polska’ emblem has become synonymous with the highest Polish quality and inspires the trust of customers and businesses alike”, says Krzysztof Przybył, President of the Polish Promotional Emblem Foundation.

Nagroda TERAZ POLSKA 2020

For several years, Selena Group has been marketing modern construction chemistry solutions which lower CO2 emissions, ensure higher heat insulation and meet the requirements of the EU’s climate policy. The use of these products reduces the noise level and increases protection against high or low temperature in the building, which increases the comfort of the people living or working in it. When looking for appropriate solutions, both manufacturers of building materials and builders for whom these materials are intended should take into account three aspects:

  • safety – for the people who will live or work in the buildings
  • natural environment – in terms of direct contact by workers and inhabitants, but in a broader sense – in the context of environmental impact of the materials production process or the construction process, among other things
  • construction efficiency – understood as the speed of development

The innovative solutions are developed by a team of R&D experts – Selena Labs, which is located in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. Selena Labs is the first Polish company leading a project implemented by an international consortium under the Horizon 2020 programme. Under the EENSULATE project, Selena Group’s R&D Centre received a grant for developing and implementing a system of polyurethane foams and foam adhesives with advanced insulation properties. This is a part of Horizon 2020, the largest research and innovation funding programme in the history of the European Union, with a budget of nearly EUR 80 billion. In addition to EENSULATE, under Horizon 2020, Selena Labs participates in the BioMotive project (also part of Horizon 2020), which is designed to pave the ground towards the production and subsequent sale of components based on biorenewable, crop-based raw materials.
